Morris Property Group signed up a new tenant, dessert business The Whale Tea, for its 47sq m new retail space at the base of its Highgate building in Canberra.
The Whale Tea has entered into a five-year lease with options over unit G3, 260-264 City Walk.
The rent is confidential but market sources indicate rents in the building are between $1000 and $1050 per sq m.

Sydney businessman Sam Harb, also known as Sam the Paving Man after his paving contracting business, secured solar power distributor Powerark Solar as a tenant for his new project in Sydney’s Greenacre.
Powerark signed a three-year lease for a 1252sq m industrial unit at Mr Harb’s 9255sq m industrial park at 61-65 Roberts Road.
The property has a stylish design featuring graffiti murals and feature windows.
Powerark will pay net annual rent of $135 a sq m, struck by CBRE’s Raj Chaudhary and Cathy Henderson.
Organic foods producer Kehoe’s Kitchen has outgrown its headquarters in Murarrie, Brisbane and is moving to a property almost three times larger at 12 Goodman Place in the same area.
The family-owned business has committed to a five-year lease with options over a 2212sq m warehouse with chiller and cold room production space as it expands into supermarkets nationally.
Kehoe’s will pay a private landlord gross annual rent of $203 a sq m.
Savills’ Shaw Harrison oversaw the deal which included modifications to suit the company’s food production requirements.
