American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is tapping into the burgeoning CBD beauty trend with the launch of a new wellness line.

The brand has rolled out ‘MOOD,’ a genderless wellness and personal care line that includes 100% hemp-derived CBD products for bath and body.

The 45-piece series, which customers can now shop in American Eagle stores and online, spans body lotion, hand cream, face oil, aromatherapy oil, pillow mist, sugar scrub and foaming face wash, among other products. The collection is divided into six scent categories to address different moods and needs, namely: Chill, Energized, Focused, Refreshed, Soothed and zZz.

“MOOD is designed to help everyone, especially young people, live a better quality of life,” said Chad Kessler, American Eagle Global Brand President, in a statement. “The first collection is just the beginning of a more expansive product line and what we see as a meaningful long-term growth opportunity.”

The colorful collection, which was developed for American Eagle by Green Growth Brands, is accompanied by a campaign featuring unscripted interviews from young people addressing their approach to self-care.

Beauty lines containing cannabis products are fast becoming a major industry trend, as retailers increasingly incorporate hemp-derived products into their offerings. Recent examples include Urban Outfitters, which teamed up with the skincare label High this year to stock its High Expectations Cannabis Facial Oil and High Five Cannabis Facial Moisturizer at UrbanOutfitters.com and in 43 Urban Outfitters US stores. In June, Abercrombie & Fitch expanded its partnership with Green Growth Brands to sell Seventh Sense Botanical Therapy products, including lip balms and sugar scrubs, in more than 160 of its stores, and March saw the US department store Barneys New York launch “The High End,” an in-house concept shop featuring luxury cannabis lifestyle and wellness products, at its Beverly Hills flagship store.

We study the effects of cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive component of cannabis that does not produce the high associated with smoking or using it."There is a lot of debate on the health effects of marijuana and the use of cannabinoids, which are a group of compounds found in marijuana that have anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, anti-nausea and anti-emetic properties. However, there is a lack of solid scientific evidence to guide us in the application of cannabis therapeutics."
